About Me

Christina James, of Charlotte, North Carolina, has been proofreading and copy editing for seven years. She received her BA in English in 2001 (focusing on editing and grammar), followed by a Master of Arts in Teaching Secondary English/Language Arts. She worked for a small overflow publishing house proofreading and copy editing for three years before going on to instruct students in grammar and literature, as well as literary devices.

Through the past seven years, Christina has copy edited various documents for friends and colleagues. She has copy/line edited many works of fiction, as well as proofed and copy edited several technical documents and magazine/newsletter articles. She has worked on developmental editing for two non-fiction books, as well as numerous pieces of fiction literature. She is familiar with the MLA, APA, AP, CMS, and AMA editing/writing styles.

Christina has been the editor of a quarterly, non-profit newsletter, which was available both online and in print. The newsletter was laid out in QuarkXPress and Scribus to help authors prepare them for print.
